POPULAR SCIENCE BEST OF WHAT'S NEW AWARD

  • Popular Science magazine selected the Maytag Central Water Filtration System using ZENON's Ultrafiltration Technology as one of the year's top breakthrough technologies in the Home Tech category
  • The ultimate Popular Science accolade, this award honours innovations that not only impact the way we live today, but change the way we think about the future

CANADA'S TOP CORPORATE CITIZEN

  • Presented by Corporate Knights, a business publication that addresses corporate social responsibility
  • ZENON won with the highest score across a broad spectrum of criteria
  • Canada's 100 largest publicly traded companies by market cap (in addition to other nominated TSX companies) were scored across seven categories, five of which were sourced from an internationally recognized research firm: environment, international stakeholder relations/human rights, product safety and business practices, community relations and employee relations/diversity in the workplace.
  • The remaining two categories were corporate governance and financial performance - scores for corporate governance were tabulated from the Board Shareholder Confidence Index published by the Clarkson Centre for Business Ethics and Board Effectiveness and financial performance scores were determined by the company's five-year total return
  • ZENON has won the top spot in every year in which it was under consideration

  • Presented by the Oakville Awards for Business Excellence to ZENON's CEO, Dr. Andrew Benedek
  • The award recognizes an individual who has introduced a new, different or unique business concept where the element of risk is significant and where a track record of success is clearly evident

2003

CIBC SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP AWARD

  • Received for ZENON's "Water for Humanity" employee program, which in 2003 donated a drinking water treatment plant (built by ZENON employees who volunteered their time) to a community in Vietnam
  • Award recognizes and celebrates CIBC's Commercial Banking clients' efforts to give back to the communities in which they do business
  • Each year the program recognizes five CIBC Commercial Banking clients that demonstrate unique corporate giving and community spirit initiatives.

STOCKHOLM INDUSTRY WATER AWARD

  • Presented by the Stockholm Water Foundation in cooperation with the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and World Business Council for Sustainable Development
  • ZENON was selected because of the company's innovative approaches to the development of water and wastewater process technologies, along with its contributions to environmental improvement

  • Presented by Frost & Sullivan, one of the world's leading companies in market growth consulting
  • Recognizes ZENON's outstanding achievements in technology development

CANADA'S TOP CORPORATE CITIZEN

  • Independent third party scored the ranking of Canada's 300 largest publicly listed companies using a seven step scoring system: community, employee relations/diversity, environment, product safety and business practices, international and profitability
